We started the day with a visit to Florensis – a Dutch-owned
farm on the shores of Lake Navaisha. We were guided by our host through various
portion of the flower farm including the indoor greenhouse where roses are
grown both hydroponically and in the soil, the free clinic where workers and
their dependents can receive medical attention and the portion of the farm
that is left undeveloped so that it can provide a home to wildlife.

After lunch, we visited another flower farm which is an hour
from the campsite. It rained in the afternoon and continued to drizzle
throughout the entire visit. We also had the opportunity to visit a chameleon
farm where a few wild chameleons are captured and bred in a greenhouse amongst
the farm’s regular crops, and the resulting offspring are sold to satisfy the
demands of the pet trade. In the evening we had a group discussion on the
visits and had an early night as the next day require a pre-dawn alarm so that
we can be at the location before sunrise.

It rained and so the pathway was muddy with mud hole. On our way to the chameleons' farm. |
